News from the Admin Team

Kendall Families,

What a wonderful way to wrap up October! The past few weeks have been filled with so many opportunities to come together as a Kendall community. Thank you to all of our families for showing up, participating, volunteering, and helping make these special moments possible for our students.

Our library was filled with some incredible creations for our Book Character Pumpkins.  The creativity and effort that went into each pumpkin were so much fun to see. We also had an amazing Trunk or Treat thanks to our wonderful PTO. A big thank-you to everyone who attended, decorated trunks, volunteered, and helped make the evening such a success. We are especially grateful for the support of our PTO and our Champion High School volunteers who helped make it all happen.

We wrapped up our fall celebrations this morning with our Book Character Parade! We were fortunate enough to get outside just before the rain, and it was such a treat to see all of the creative costumes and favorite characters come to life. We loved seeing so many parents come out to cheer on our students. These are the moments that make our school community so special!

Thank you to our PTO for treating our staff to morning pastries and a spooky afternoon snack cart. Your thoughtfulness and continued support mean so much to our school. We also want to thank our families for helping students participate in Red Ribbon Week dress-up days. Your enthusiasm makes each day a little more fun and gives our students something extra to look forward to!

As we head into Halloween weekend, we hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable time celebrating and trick-or-treating with family and friends. When we return, it will officially be November, and we are looking forward to cooler weather, meaningful learning, and all the exciting things still ahead!

A few dates and reminders as we look ahead:
  • November 2–3: Third-grade testing. We kindly ask that families avoid scheduling appointments or picking up students early during these days whenever possible so our third graders can complete their assessments without interruptions.
  • November 6: All Pro Dads meeting! We invite all dads and father figures to join us for a great morning of connection and community.
  • Coming Soon: Our Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, November 11th at 9:00am. We look forward to taking time to honor and recognize the veterans who have served our country.

Thank you again for being such an involved and supportive part of Kendall Elementary. We are grateful for our families, our volunteers, and the many ways you make our school a special place to learn and grow. Let’s head into November ready to make the most of every day!

If you aren't already following Kendall Elemenatary on Facebook and Instagram, we encourage you to join us! Our social media pages are a great way to see photos of all the wonderful things happening around campus.

The Eraser Challenge

Hi Parents,

We have seen an increase in students participating in a social media/Tik Tok trend called the "Eraser Challenge."  The challenge involves taking an eraser and rubbing it back and forth on your arm as hard and fast as you can, resulting in burns and skin abrasions, which could become infected. Please have a conversation with your student about safety, positive choices, and personal responsibility.  Our goal is to keep all of our Kendall Knights safe and healthy!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Character Education
Our 2nd nine-week Character Education trait is "Caring".  Caring can be defined as "showing kindness and concern for others."

Here are some ways we can model caring behavior at home:

  • Let your child see you helping others, using kind words, listening, and showing concern when someone is having a difficult time.
  • Help your child notice how others might be feeling. Ask questions like, "How do you think they felt?" and "What could we do to help?"
  • Encourage your child to practice caring in everyday actions, such as helping a sibling, making a card for someone who is sick, taking care of a pet, checking on a friend, or helping a family member.

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week will be October 26-30, 2026, and we will be focusing on "Healthy Choices."  Our dress up days are listed below!

Special Lunch Sponsorship for Blessings

At Kendall Elementary, connection and belonging are important values. With that in mind, we hope all students are able to participate in our FUN-draisers. If you would like to sponsor a student to help them have equal access, it would be greatly appreciated. Your sponsorship pays for one (1) of our Chickfila, Cane's, or Las Palapas lunch fundraisers for a student this school year.
